Saint Faustina knew that God wanted her to pray for sinners.
Even though, at times, we may fall away from God through our mistakes, failings and unbelief, God will always welcome us back if we are sincere about repenting and wanting to better -- never offending our Lord again.
Jesus said to Saint Faustina in 1937:
The Lord said to me, The loss of each soul plunges Me into mortal sadness. You always console Me when you pray for sinners. The prayer most pleasing to Me is prayer for the conversion of sinners. Know, My daughter, that this prayer is always heard and answered. (Diary entry 1397)
