Saint Brother André Brings UsTo Saint Joseph

Today is the feast of Saint Brother André, who is powerful in many ways and the patron of family caregivers. This is no coincidence since Brother André was a faithful supplicant of Saint Joseph, asking for many favors of help and healing for the people who came to see the priest in Quebec, Canada around a century ago. Saint Joseph is the ultimate caregiver for his participation in the Holy Family.

Saint Brother André said: “When you invoke Saint Joseph, you don’t have to speak much. You know your Father in Heaven knows what you need; well, so does His friend Saint Joseph...Tell him, ‘If you were in my place, Saint Joseph, what would you do? Well, pray for this in my behalf.’”

Good Saint Joseph, guide for the spiritual life, you accept Brother André’s prayers with affection. Animated by the blessing of God our Father, in heartfelt union, may the friendship between you last for an eternity of gladness. Greet us, your friends also, with that same affection, and keep us under your protection. With Jesus and Mary as our companions, lead us in the footsteps of Brother André in the ways of the Kingdom. Prayer to Saint Joseph After the Rosary

This prayer to Saint Joseph was composed by Pope Leo XIII in his 1889 encyclical, Quamquam Pluries. He asked that it be added to the end of the holy Rosary and may be said after the Hail, Holy Queen prayer, the Salve Regina, especially during October -- the month dedicated to the Rosary.

To you, O blessed Joseph,
do we come in our tribulation,
and having implored the help of your most holy Spouse,
we confidently invoke your patronage also.

Through that charity which bound you
to the Immaculate Virgin Mother of God
and through the paternal love
with which you embraced the Child Jesus,
we humbly beg you graciously to regard the inheritance
which Jesus Christ has purchased by his Blood,
and with your power and strength to aid us in our necessities.

O most watchful guardian of the Holy Family,
defend the chosen children of Jesus Christ;
O most loving father, ward off from us
every contagion of error and corrupting influence;
O our most mighty protector, be kind to us
and from heaven assist us in our struggle
with the power of darkness.

As once you rescued the Child Jesus from deadly peril,
so now protect God's Holy Church
from the snares of the enemy and from all adversity;
shield, too, each one of us by your constant protection,
so that, supported by your example and your aid,

Solemnity of the Divine Child Jesus

On the first Sunday in September, we celebrate the solemnity of the Divine Child Jesus. Let us honor Him and entrust ourselves wholly to Him and ask for the protection of the Holy Virgin Mother Mary.

Divine Child Jesus, we believe in You; We adore You; and we love You; have mercy on us, sinners.

We've come to this Temple in response to your love. We've come in response to your mercy and grace. We are here because You invited us to come before You and to pour out the cares of our hearts to You since You deeply care for each of us.

We remember Your words to the disciples: Ask and you shall receive. Seek and you shall find. Knock and the door shall be opened. Trusting in your infinite goodness and trusting that You always keep your promise, we now ask this intention which we pray in the silence of our hearts......

Thank you, Divine Child Jesus, for listening attentively to our prayers all the time. We hope that You will ask this before Our Heavenly Father. And, if what we ask for may not be good for our salvation and sanctification, we trust that you will grant us instead what we truly need, so that one day we may be with You for all eternity enjoying that ultimate happiness of Heaven.

Prayer to the Divine Infant Jesus

O Miraculous Infant Jesus, prostrate before Your Sacred image we beseech You to cast a merciful look on our troubled hearts. Let Your tender heart be softened at our prayers and grant us that grace for which we ardently implore You. Take from us all affliction and despair, all trials and misfortunes with which we are laden. For Your Sacred Infant's sake hear our prayers and send us consolation and help, that we may praise You with the Father and the Holy Spirit forever and ever. Amen.
