Consecration of Your Family to the Blessed Virgin Mary

O Immaculate Virgin Mother, who is Queen of heaven and earth, our life, our sweetness, and our hope, on this day I bring my entire family before you to consecrate ourselves to you as your possession and property. We praise God because he has brought us together to give ourselves to you our Mother. We do this because Jesus said on the Cross, “Behold your Mother.”

We need you, Mother Mary, to help us to be a truly Catholic family. Enter into our family life. Repeat to us the words you spoke at Cana, “Do whatever He tells you.”

Help us to overlook one another’s faults, to forgive as Jesus has forgiven us, and to love one another as Our Lord has asked us to love.

Please use our family to crush the head of the serpent.

Ask your Spouse, Saint Joseph, Protector of the universal Church, to keep us one in mind and heart with your Son’s Vicar, Pope Francis.

Today you have become the Queen of our hearts and home. Help us to grow in faith through your grace. May our home be a “City of the Immaculata,” where the Sacred Heart of Jesus reigns forever. Amen.

First Friday Act of Reparation
To the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus
January 2024

O Jesus, Divine Savior, deign to cast a look of mercy upon your children, who assemble in the same spirit of faith, reparation, and love and come to deplore their own infidelities, and those of all poor sinners, their brethren.

May we touch your Divine Heart by the unanimous and solemn promises we are about to make and obtain mercy for ourselves, for the world, and for all who are so unhappy as not to love you. We all promise that for the future: For the forgetfulness and ingratitude of men, we will console you, O Lord.

For the way you are deserted in your holy tabernacle, we will console you, O Lord.

For the crimes of sinners, we will console you, O Lord.

For the hatred of the impious, we will console you, O Lord.

For the blasphemies uttered against you, we will console you, O Lord.

For the sacrileges that profane your sacrament of love, we will console you, O Lord.

For the outrages against your divinity, we will console you, O Lord.

For the injuries of which you are the adorable victim, we will console you, O Lord.

For the coldness of the greater part of your children, we will console you, O Lord.

For the contempt of your loving invitation, we will console you, O Lord.

For the infidelity of those who called themselves your friends, we will console you, O Lord.

For the abuse of your grace, we will console you, O Lord.

For our own unfaithfulness, we will console you, O Lord.

For the incomprehensible hardness of our hearts, we will console you, O Lord.

For our long delay in loving you, we will console you, O Lord.

For our tepidity in your holy service, we will console you, O Lord.

For your bitter sadness at the loss of souls, we will console you, O Lord.

For your long waiting at the door of our hearts, we will console you, O Lord.

For the heartless scorn that grieves you, we will console you, O Lord.

For your loving sighs, we will console you, O Lord.

For your loving tears, we will console you, O Lord.

For your loving imprisonment, we will console you, O Lord.

For your loving death, we will console you, O Lord.

Let us pray

O Jesus, Divine Savior, from whose heart comes forth this bitter complaint, "I looked for one that would comfort me, and I found none," graciously accept the feeble consolation we offer you, and aid us so powerfully by your grace, that we may, for the time to come, shun more and more all that can displease you, and prove ourselves in everything, and everywhere, and forever your most faithful and devoted servants. We ask it through your Sacred Heart, O Lord, who live and reign with the father and the Holy Spirit one God, world without end. Amen.

Feast of the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus

Today is the blessed feast of the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus.

Devotion to His Sacred Heart connects us directly to the Trinity, "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish, but have everlasting life."

Put your trust in Jesus's Heart, tell Him everything that is in your heart, all of your troubles, fears, anxieties, hurts, pains and sadnesses, and He will accept them as His Own. Connect with Him and you will receive what you need to go forward.

Padre Pio recited this powerful and healing novena every day for all those who requested his prayers.

Efficacious Novena to the Sacred Heart of Jesus

O my Jesus, you have said: 'Truly I say to you, ask and you will receive, seek and you will find, knock and it will be opened to you. ' Behold I knock, I seek and ask for the grace of...... (here name your request) Our Father... . Hail Mary... . Glory Be to the Father... .

Sacred Heart of Jesus, I place all my trust in you.

O my Jesus, you have said: 'Truly I say to you, if you ask anything of the Father in my name, he will give it to you. ' Behold, in your name, I ask the Father for the grace of...... . (here name your request) Our Father... Hail Mary... . Glory Be To the Father... .

Sacred Heart of Jesus, I place all my trust in you.

O my Jesus, you have said: 'Truly I say to you, heaven and earth will pass away but my words will not pass away. ' Encouraged by your infallible words I now ask for the grace of... . . (here name your request) Our Father... . Hail Mary... . Glory Be to the Father...

Sacred Heart of Jesus, I place all my trust in you.

O Sacred Heart of Jesus, for whom it is impossible not to have compassion on the afflicted, have pity on us miserable sinners and grant us the grace which we ask of you, through the Sorrowful and Immaculate Heart of Mary, your tender Mother and ours.

Closing  prayer

Hail, Holy Queen to the Blessed Virgin Mary.

Saint Joseph, foster father of Jesus, pray for us.

Saints Margaret Mary Alacoque and Padre Pio, pay for us.

Original Divine Mercy Image

Watch a live stream from the Divine Mercy Sanctuary at the Holy Trinity Church in Vilnius, Lithuania.

The shrine is dedicated to the Divine Mercy and holds the original image of Divine Mercy.

Eugeniusz Kazimirowski painted the image according to Sister Faustina as she saw Him in her visits with Christ. It was completed in 1934. The right hand of Jesus is raised to bless us and two rays representing His blood and water emanate from His Sacred Heart.

Many miracles happen in veneration of the image and through Eucharistic adoration. Pray for Holy Souls and those on Earth using the Divine Mercy Chaplet.

Consecration to the Sacred Heart

Most sweet Jesus, redeemer of the human race, look down upon us, humbly prostrate before your altar. We are yours and yours we wish to be; but to be more surely united with you, behold each one of us freely consecrates himself today to your Most Sacred Heart.

Many, indeed, have never known you, many too, despising your precepts, have rejected you. Have mercy on them all, most merciful Jesus, and draw them to your Sacred Heart. Be you King, O Lord, not only of the faithful who have never forsaken you, but also of the prodigal children who have abandoned you; grant that they may quickly return to their father's house, lest they die of wretchedness and hunger.

Be you King of those who are deceived by erroneous opinions, or whom discord keeps aloof, and call them back to the harbor of truth and unity of faith, so that soon there may be but one flock and one shepherd. Be you King also of all those who sit in the ancient superstition of the Gentiles, and refuse not you to deliver them out of darkness into the light and kingdom of God.

Grant, O Lord, to your Church, assurance of freedom and immunity from harm; give peace and order to all nations, and make the earth resound from pole to pole with one cry: Praise to the Divine Heart that wrought our salvation; to it be glory and honor forever. Amen.

Prayer of  Pope Leo XIII issued with the Encyclical Letter Annum Sacrum, May 25, 1899

The Sacred Heart's Friend: Saint Margaret Mary Alacoque

Today is the feast day of Saint Margaret Mary Alacoque, a humble French nun who lived from 1647 to 1690. Jesus revealed to her His Most Sacred Heart in a series of beautiful visions and implored for the world to know Him through His Love, which emanates from His Heart. Full trust in Jesus honors His Heart and Love for us.

Jesus to Saint Margaret Mary, "Look at this Heart which has loved men so much, and yet men do not want to love Me in return. Through you, My divine Heart wishes to spread its love everywhere on earth.”

The Twelve Promises of Jesus to Saint Margaret Mary for those devoted to His Sacred Heart:

I will give them all the graces necessary for their state of life.

I will establish peace in their families.

I will console them in all their troubles.

They shall find in My Heart an assured refuge during life and especially at the hour of their death.

I will pour abundant blessings on all their undertakings.

Sinners shall find in My Heart the source of an infinite ocean of mercy.

Tepid souls shall become fervent.

Fervent souls shall speedily rise to great perfection.

I will bless the homes where an image of My Heart shall be exposed and honored.

I will give to priests the power of touching the most hardened hearts.

Those who propagate this devotion shall have their names written in My Heart, never to be effaced.

The all-powerful love of My Heart will grant to all those who shall receive Communion on the First Friday of nine consecutive months the grace of final repentance; they shall not die under my displeasure, nor without receiving their Sacraments; My Heart shall be their assured refuge at that last hour. --From Saint Margaret Mary Alacoque’s vision of Jesus

The devotions attached to these promises:

Receiving Holy Communion frequently.

Observe First Fridays by going to confession and receiving the Eucharist on the first Friday of each month for nine consecutive months.

Making a Holy Hour of eucharistic adoration for one hour a week, namely on Thursdays.

Celebrating the feast of the Sacred Heart.

Act of Reparation to the Sacred Heart of Jesus

A partial indulgence is granted to those who recite this prayer, and a plenary indulgence is granted if it is publicly recited on the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus feast day.

Act of Reparation to the Sacred Heart of Jesus

Most sweet Jesus, whose overflowing charity for men is requited by so much forgetfulness, negligence and contempt, behold us prostrate before Thee, eager to repair by a special act of homage the cruel indifference and injuries to which Thy loving Heart is everywhere subject.

Mindful, alas! that we ourselves have had a share in such great indignities, which we now deplore from the depths of our hearts, we humbly ask Thy pardon and declare our readiness to atone by voluntary expiation, not only for our own personal offenses, but also for the sins of those, who, straying far from the path of salvation, refuse in their obstinate infidelity to follow Thee, their Shepherd and Leader, or, renouncing the promises of their baptism, have cast off the sweet yoke of Thy law.

We are now resolved to expiate each and every deplorable outrage committed against Thee; we are now determined to make amends for the manifold offenses against Christian modesty in unbecoming dress and behavior, for all the foul seductions laid to ensnare the feet of the innocent, for the frequent violations of Sundays and holy days, and the shocking blasphemies uttered against Thee and Thy Saints.

We wish also to make amends for the insults to which Thy Vicar on earth and Thy priests are subjected, for the profanation, by conscious neglect or terrible acts of sacrilege, of the very crimes of nations who resist the rights and teaching authority of the Church which Thou hast founded.

Would that we were able to wash away such abominations with our blood. We now offer, in reparation for these violations of Thy divine honor, the satisfaction Thou once made to Thy Eternal Father on the cross and which Thou continuest to renew daily on our altars; we offer it in union with the acts of atonement of Thy Virgin Mother and all the Saints and of the pious faithful on earth; and we sincerely promise to make recompense, as far as we can with the help of Thy grace, for all neglect of Thy great love and for the sins we and others have committed in the past.

Henceforth, we will live a life of unswerving faith, of purity of conduct, of perfect observance of the precepts of the Gospel and especially that of charity. We promise to the best of our power to prevent others from offending Thee and to bring as many as possible to follow Thee.

O loving Jesus, through the intercession of the Blessed Virgin Mother, our model in reparation, deign to receive the voluntary offering we make of this act of expiation; and by the crowning gift of perseverance keep us faithful unto death in our duty and the allegiance we owe to Thee, so that we may all one day come to that happy home, where with the Father and the Holy Spirit Thou livest and reignest, God, forever and ever. Amen.

Prayer to the Sacred Heart of Jesus

It's the solemn feast day of the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus. Here's a daily prayer that's easy to pray.

O Sacred Heart of Jesus, filled with infinite love, broken by my ingratitude, pierced by my sins, yet loving me still; accept the consecration that I make to You of all that I am and all that I have. Take every faculty of my soul and body and draw me, day by day, nearer and nearer to Your Sacred Heart and there, as I can understand the lesson, teach me Your blessed ways. Amen.

Act of Consecration to the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus

This prayer of Saint Margaret Mary Alacoque is amazingly beautiful and powerful.

O Sacred Heart of Jesus, to Thee I consecrate and offer up my person and my life, my actions, trials, and sufferings, that my entire being may henceforth only be employed in loving, honoring and glorifying Thee. This is my irrevocable will, to belong entirely to Thee, and to do all for Thy love, renouncing with my whole heart all that can displease Thee.

I take Thee, O Sacred Heart, for the sole object of my love, the protection of my life, the pledge of my salvation, the remedy of my frailty and inconstancy, the reparation for all the defects of my life, and my secure refuge at the hour of my death. Be Thou, O Most Merciful Heart, my justification before God Thy Father, and screen me from His anger which I have so justly merited. I fear all from my own weakness and malice, but placing my entire confidence in Thee, O Heart of Love, I hope all from Thine infinite Goodness. Annihilate in me all that can displease or resist Thee. Imprint Thy pure love so deeply in my heart that I may never forget Thee or be separated from Thee.

I beseech Thee, through Thine infinite Goodness, grant that my name be engraved upon Thy Heart, for in this I place all my happiness and all my glory, to live and to die as one of Thy devoted servants.

Amen.

Prayer of Spiritual Communion

Eternal Father, I offer up to Thee my intellect, that it may learn to know Thee alone.  Sweetest Jesus, I offer up to Thee my memory, that it may remember Thee alone.

Holy Spirit, Spirit of Charity, I offer up to Thee my will, that Thou mayest enkindle and warm it by Thine divine love.

Adorn my soul with Thy seven gifts, and let me become thy pure temple. Fill me with Thy grace, and prepare my heart to receive spiritually my God.

Jesus, my God, as I am unable to receive Thee sacramentally, do Thou receive me into Thy Heart and unite me so perfectly with It that nothing may ever be able to separate me, even for a moment, from Thee.

Engulf my misery and my nothingness in the abyss of Thy mercy, that I, changed into Thee, may henceforth live only for Thee, by Thee, and in Thee.

Come, therefore, Thou, my only satisfaction, come to take possession of this heart, which belongs to Thee, and cannot live one moment without Thee.  Amen

Sacred Heart of Jesus Litany

Pope Leo XIII approved this Litany of the Sacred Heart of Jesus for public use in 1899. There are 33 invocations, one for each year of life of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Father Croiset composed a litany in 1691 from which 17 invocations were used by Venerable Anne Madeleine Remuzat when she composed her litany in 1718 at Marseille. She joined an additional 10 invocations to those of Father Croiset, for a total of 27 invocations. Six more invocations written by Sister Madeleine Joly of Dijon in 1686 were added by the Sacred Congregation for Rites when it was approved for public use in 1899.

A partial indulgence is attached to this litany.

Pray it daily, for sinners.

Lord, have mercy. Lord, have mercy.
Christ, have mercy. Christ, have mercy.
Lord, have mercy. Lord, have mercy.

Christ, hear us.
Christ, graciously hear us.

A True Letter of Our Savior Jesus Christ

This prayer is extremely powerful. Please pray the parts in bold type, which include two Our Fathers, two Hail Marys and two Glory Bes, plus the remembrance of Our Lord's Sacred Wounds, daily for three years, for the conversion of sinners, those who have left the faith and for your own soul. Please print it out and carry a copy with you. You will be helped.

A TRUE LETTER OF OUR SAVIOR JESUS CHRIST

Consecrating the Drops of Blood which Our Lord lost on His way to Calvary.

Copy of a letter of the Oration found in the Holy Sepulchre of Our Lord Jesus Christ in Jerusalem, preserved in a silver box by His Holiness and by the Emperors and Empresses of the Christian Faith.

St. Elizabeth, Queen of Hungary, with St. Matilda and St. Bridget, wishing to know something of the Passion of Jesus Christ, offered fervent and special prayers, upon which there appeared to them Our Lord Jesus Christ Who spoke to them in the following manner:

I descended from Heaven to the Earth in order to convert you. In olden times people were religious and their harvests were abundant; at present, on the contrary, they are scanty.

If you want to reap an abundant harvest you must not work on Sunday, for on Sunday you must go to Church, and pray to God to forgive your sins. He gave you six days in which to work and one for rest and devotion and to tender your help to the poor and assist the Church.

Those people who brawl against My religion and cast slurs on this Sacred Letter, shall be forsaken by Me.

On the contrary, those people who shall carry a copy of this letter with them shall be free of death by drowning and from sudden death. They shall be free from all contagious diseases and lightning; they shall not die without Confession, and shall be free from their enemies and from the hand of wrongful authority, and from all their slanderers and false witnesses.

Women in peril at child-birth will, by keeping this Oration about them. immediately overcome the difficulty. In the houses where this Oration is kept,no evil thing will ever happen: and forty days before the death of a person who has this Oration about him or her, the Blessed Virgin will appear to him or her. So said St. Gregorius.

TO ALL THOSE FAITHFUL WHO SHALL RECITE FOR 3 YEARS, EACH DAY, 2 PATERS, GLORIAS and AVES, IN HONOR OF THE DROPS OF BLOOD I LOST, I WILL CONCEDE THE FOLLOWING 5 GRACES:

1. The plenary indulgence and remittance of your sins.
2. You will be free from the pains of Purgatory.
3. If you should die before completing the said 3 years, for you it will be the same as if you had completed them.
4. It will be upon your death the same as if you had shed all your blood for the Holy Faith.
5. I will descend from Heaven to take your soul and that of your relatives, until the fourth generation.

Be it known that the number of armed soldiers were 150; those who trailed me while I was bound were 23. The executioners of justice were 83; the blows received on my head were 150; those on my stomach, 108; kicks on my shoulders, 80. I was led, bound with cords by the hair, 24 times; spits in the face were 180; I was beaten on the body 6666 times; beaten on the head 110 times; I was roughly pushed, and at 12 o' clock I was lifted up by the hair; pricked with thorns and pulled by the beard 23 times; received 20 wounds on the head; thorns of marine junks, 72; pricks of thorns in the head, 110; mortal thorns in the forehead, 3. I was afterwards flogged and dressed as a mocked king; wounds in the body, 1000. The soldiers who led Me to the Calvary were 608; those who watched Me were 3, and those who mocked Me were 1008; the drops of blood which I lost were 28,430.

Litany of the Most Sacred Heart

A very easy and beautiful way to get closer to Jesus is by honoring his Most Sacred Heart. Mercy flows from His Most Sacred Heart. This simple prayer is a great way to celebrate the jubilee year of Mercy. Pray this litany every day. The Sacred Heart of Jesus is waiting for you to share your sufferings, pains, tiredness, worries, and joys and thankfulness. A partial indulgence is attached to this litany.

A Prayer to the Sacred Heart

Saint Faustina wrote in her diary in early 1938 a simple prayer that you and I can say every day:

Accept, most merciful Jesus, this, my inadequate sacrifice, which I offer to You today before heaven and earth. May Your Most Sacred Heart, so full of mercy, complete what is lacking in my offering, and offer it to Your Father for the conversion of sinners. I thirst after souls, O Christ.

Hurry to Jesus

May 1, 1938.

This evening, Jesus said to me, My daughter, do you need anything? I answered, “O my Love, when I have You I have everything.” And the Lord answered, If souls would put themselves completely in My care, I myself would undertake the task of sanctifying them, and I would lavish even greater graces on them. There are souls who thwart My efforts, but I have not given up on them; as often as they turn to Me, I hurry to their aid, shielding them with My Mercy, and I give them the first place in My compassionate Heart. (Diary entry 1682)
